“We all do the things we do and make the decisions we make because of deep-seated beliefs and values. One of the things that gives me great pleasure and that I think is so important in the work I do is understanding people first: who they are, their values, etc. Finding out why they want to do something is almost more important to me than what they want to do because it tells me a lot about who they are and how they want to affect the world around them.”

Growing up in a family with a long history in agriculture and land ownership in the San Diego area gives Doug a unique perspective on the issues facing landowners and business owners. Doug understands the benefits of a single asset position such as real estate or a business, and also the challenges that can be caused by the lack of diversification and poor succession planning. “My goal is to help clients understand the importance of comprehensive planning and diversification of assets to preserve wealth. My function is to serve as the quarterback, or financial macro-manager, working with a team of professionals to design and implement successful wealth-building and protection strategies.”

Doug graduated from California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo with a degree in marketing. He started his first business at the age of 27, providing accounting, payroll, and computer systems services to business owners. Doug transitioned into the financial services industry in 1995, and spent the next 6 years with New York Life as an insurance agent before becoming licensed as an Investment Advisor Representative with LPL Financial and starting Titan Financial Associates..

Doug, his wife Cheryl, and their three children Patrick, Katie, and Emily live in Beaverton, Oregon.
